Checkride
A scenario-based PPL training game focused on aeronautical decision-making and procedural judgment.
The Pitch
Checkride translates private pilot oral and scenario prep into an interactive training format. Instead of static study materials, it presents aviation decision-making as branching gameplay built to reinforce ADM, situational awareness, and procedural thinking.
What I Built
Scenario-based mission structure for PPL training
Decision branches built around ADM and judgment calls
Debrief-style scoring and progression loops
Browser-friendly prototype workflow for quick iteration
Training-first design inspired by real checkride preparation
Expandable structure for future maneuvers, emergencies, and oral scenarios
The Story
The Beginning
Checkride grew out of the idea that aviation training can be made more memorable and useful when study material becomes an interactive scenario instead of a passive document.
The Journey
The project focuses on making pilot decision-making legible, repeatable, and measurable through game structure. Each scene is designed to help players think through outcomes, not just memorize answers.
Where It Stands
It represents a practical serious-game direction for the studio: education and simulation with stronger replayability and retention than traditional prep materials.
