WHISPER Playtests: Sharpening Multiplayer Horror Through Iteration

WHISPER continues to improve through playtest-driven changes focused on multiplayer clarity, tension, and keeping communication central to survival.

WHISPER works best when players feel like every decision is happening under pressure. That makes playtesting essential. ## What the Team Is Learning The most valuable feedback has been around clarity: what players understand quickly, where coordination breaks down, and when the horror systems create tension versus confusion. Multiplayer horror is fragile. If the rules are unclear, tension collapses into frustration. ## Current Areas of Iteration The focus right now is on refining how information is communicated, how the tracked threats feel in the moment, and how cooperative play stays readable when players are trying to move carefully and communicate under stress. ## Why This Matters WHISPER isn't trying to be noisy horror. Its identity comes from restraint, uncertainty, and communication. That means iteration has to protect the quiet parts of the experience as much as the scary ones. ## Next Steps More testing, tighter feedback loops, and continued refinement of the systems that make multiplayer coordination feel risky in the best way.
